About

An independent project for one hard decision.

whichcity.eu compares 178 cities across 29 European countries for people who already live in Europe and are working out where to move next. Not somewhere to spend a season — the place a household actually settles.

There is no best city here and no overall winner, because what matters depends entirely on who is asking. A family needs school places and a doctor within reach. Someone leaving a hot summer behind counts days above 30°C. Someone whose partner will not speak the local language needs to know how far English gets them. The same city answers those questions very differently, so the site gives you the figures and the trade-offs and lets you weigh them yourself — in the city finder, or one measure at a time in the measures tables.

How the project works

Independent

A small independent project, not a company, a relocation agency or a property portal. It is not affiliated with the European Union or its institutions, and citing Eurostat, Copernicus or the European Environment Agency implies no endorsement by them.

Nothing here is for sale

No city pays to appear, to rank, or to have a figure presented more kindly. There are no ads and no sponsored placements. If that ever changes it will be said here first.

Not advice

Nothing on the site is legal, tax, immigration or financial advice. Check anything that affects a real decision with someone qualified in the country concerned.

Corrections welcome

A wrong number is worth reporting — the whole point is that every figure can be checked. Write to contact@whichcity.eu.
